On 7th October, 2012, 180 student
teachers from Paro College of Education (PCE) joined the big group of
volunteers in the day-long volunteerism work for the ongoing construction of Zangtopelri Lhakhang around the Kudung Chorten of His Holiness late
Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche at Dagophu, under Lango Gewog, Paro. The other
volunteers were from Royal Thimphu College, Drugyel Lower Secondary School, Armed
force from Shaba, residents of Paro and Thimphu, adding to a total of 400 eager
volunteers.

The volunteer work was organized by Tshampa Mahakala,
Mr. Rinchen Dorji, Dean of Research and Industrial linkage and two other lecturers,
Mr. Tandin Khorlo Wangchuk and Mr. Karma Dorji from PCE.

One of the coordinators, Mr. Rinchen Dorji, said, “With
the spirit of volunteerism and hard work that each student has displayed, we
have managed to win the admiration and appreciation of the other volunteers at
the worksite thereby creating a positive image of the Paro College.” It was a
real pleasure coordinating this voluntary service for such a good cause, he
added.
Late Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, a great teacher of Buddhism and a
primary holder of the Düdjom Tersar lineage was the son of Dudjom Rinpoche and
the father of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and Garab Rinpoche.
His Holiness was considered to be an emanation of the fourteenth-century
Nyingma master Longchempa. Thinley Norbu Rinpoche passed away at the age of
eighty on December 27th, 2011 in California, United States and the
final rites were conducted on 3rdMarch, 2012 by the reincarnation of
late Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshe Dorji, Tulku Sangye Pema at Dagophu, Paro.
